Full Character Name: Jennifer Carlyle McCormick-Freeman Nicknames: Jenny, Jen, and J.C. Age/Date of Birth: 39/ August 30, 1968
Physical Character Description: The older Jennifer gets, the better she gets at flaunting it all for the world. From day one she knew she looked different than the stereotypical neighbors in her 'hood, but that didn't stop this 5 foot 3 inch beauty from showing everyone else what real looks were. Skin dark, bronze, and flawlessly gorgeous, this woman has no problems in pulling the "just out of bed" look and making it work.
With warm, dark, almond-shaped brown eyes, her soul windows stand out against the golden bronze that makes her skin. Long, thick lashes grow lusciously and top off the look of perfection. Apply cheeks show off the little bit of Native American heritage she is able to lay claim to, and when she smiles her cheeks grow even more. It's all a part of the natural beauty she encompasses.
A smile with the perfect set of teeth that any dentist commercial would want for their own devices can often be a point of jealousy for many, but she doesn't care much about the pearly-whites, as long as they stay that way.
Thick, coarse, dark hair that matches her heritage as well, the length varies from time to time, grown out long and sometimes cropped shortly. How she wears it also varies, but from week to week. Now and then one will find cornrows, the next week it’s been straightened, the next the curls are so tight you wouldn’t think there’s enough room for a head.
The rest of this woman is large, beautiful, and luscious. Rich laughter rings from her mouth when she smiles and her voice is loud and proud of exactly who she is and where she came from.
Her clothing is the one thing she does on her own. Every outfit she wears, outside of her nursing scrubs, she designs solely on her own. The deep purples, the bright pinks, the pale yellows, the rusty oranges, everything is her own thing. When she sees something she likes she immediately sits down at home in front of her sewing machine and gets to work. Why didn’t her fashion career ever take off? Read on to find out more.
Personality Character Description: Loud and Proud are the tow first words someone would think of when describing Jenny McCormick. Her previous employers would say sometimes the woman is just a bit too loud and proud to be exactly who she is. She doesn’t take attitude from anyone, nor does she care who she’s getting in the face of when it comes down to the bareness of it all. What matters is making sure who needs what gets what they need.
With her I don’t take nothing attitude, Jenny makes for a perfect nurse. Anyone who tries to go against her final word is forced to feel the fury of her anger.
Bountiful with more than plenty to go around, this nurse will give anyone a mouthing when it’s deserved, a lent ear when one is needed, and laughter when it can be used.
Tactful enough to easily break news, this gossip queen isn’t one to find in many places unless it’s where words of mouth can be dug up easily. This social butterfly loves people, but only because she loves their lives. With her own falling apart, she feels the need to live through other’s lives and can often be found to be overbearing and awfully nosey.
Passionate about her work as it’s the only way she has a chance to buy her materials, Jenny delved her mind, heart, and soul into the business of nursing years ago when she was on the bottom of nearly everything and hasn’t left yet.
Loyal to her residents, they come first in any and all business. The residents are the ones who give her joy to move from day to day. Hearing their stories about their true loves keeps her searching, hoping, and wishing that some day things will be alright.
History: (Must be at least 15 lines) A native born and raised in Skyler, Jenny has never left. She had dreams once to do so, but they fell through, much like a lot of things in her life.
As a little girl her family was a well-to-do good family, living in an upper high-class white neighborhood. In the sixties, that did not mean good things for them. While great events happened before she was born there were still those who stuck their noses up whenever they had the chance and still maintained they were better than the McCormick family.
Being young and out of the norm, she didn’t give two of anything. As long as she was happy with her ice cream cone in one hand and the rubber kickball in the other, who was going to mess with her? A lot of people tried, she was bullied, pushed around, and all that other stuff, but she didn’t let that get in the way. Her daddy was a policeman on the force, where he witnessed the same deeds as his children, all three of them.
Simon Michael McCormick was born first, in 1961. He was younger than sin when those fights broke out and black people finally got their rights, what they deserved. However, even when he was young he couldn’t seem to stay out of scandals, constantly finding himself involved in something or other, and none of it good. Now that he’s forty-seven years old, he’s seen more than most in their lifetime. The streets is where this stray cat found himself at home, fighting over cardboard boxes, traveling from street to street to get his fix, it was everywhere and he wanted in.
Adam Carmichael was born in 1965, and he’s into dirty Politics. As a young boy that was where he found his fancies lay, in the world of crooks, sex, and money. This boy went off to college and never returned, having headed off in the direction of D.C. and never looked back. Once in a while he’ll send a Christmas card home, but non one’s heard more of him since.
Momma is still around, living with daddy in their old neighborhood, on the side of town Jenny doesn’t let register in her mind anymore. They told her she was doing wrong by agreeing to be with Nicholas, she doesn’t want to tell them just how right they were.
After graduation in 1986, Jenny had been accepted to LA’s biggest fashion college, and she planned to go there until one month before she the date was to leave. The reason? She found she was pregnant with her summer fling’s baby. Love of the sixties? Heck no, it was love of the eighties and nothing was better.
After telling her parents about the plans to not attend school and instead settle down for a bit with Nicholas and raise their child her dad told her to leave and never return, she did just that. It wasn’t long after she realized what a mistake she’d made, but she didn’t think she could correct it either. Out of money, love, and luck this girl had one way to go, and that was the employment agency because her man sure as hell wasn’t getting up off his ass to go to work.
From there they forwarded her to a job at the local hospital where she became interested in the nursing positions. However, after a bad night home with Nicholas and turning up at work the next day bruised down the face and with dried blood caked all over, she was ushered to the emergency room, the child never made it.
Years later, she’s stuck with a man she never loved, no children, no animals, a landlady who knows nothing about anything and doesn’t know when to keep her nose out of things, and no future but nursing. After the incident she and some of the nurses were on friendlier terms and they told her how she could get into nursing school. Since then she’s been a non-stop nursing machine. Whatever keeps her out of her home with the failing marriage and the blonde bimbos ways is all right with her.
Marriage falling through the floor, woman she doesn’t know about crawling out of her bedroom at all hours of the morning, drugs she knows nothing about filtering in and out of her home, she’s nearly hit the wall with craziness and doesn’t know where to make it all stop. But she does know she’s about had it with Nicholas and has an attorney office on speed dial, divorce papers ready and just waiting for her signature.
So, what’s stopping her? Maybe you’ll find out one day, or maybe, just maybe, you’ll be lucky enough to stay out of her way.
With so many things that happened in her life, fighting for her rights against the looks of many around her only keeps her going. Someday she’s going o to have children and she refuses to allow them to suffer through things she had to, but she wants them to fight for everything they want and should get too.
And why does she use her own last name? Because she wants to drop Nicholas as soon as possible, maybe.

Credentials: In high school Jenny was an average student, but not when it came to home economics. Her fashionable tastes were impeccable, and Los Angeles knew it. With things in her life that fell through, she ended up taking an aide job at the local hospital and from there she was referred to a neighboring city to take a nursing course. Passing with the highest score in her class on every test but the practical, she managed to gain her nursing license and continued to put herself through school to get her RN license. Her jobs? The local Skyler Hospital, a nursing home in a neighboring town, another in a different town, and now she’s back to start at Athena’s Garden.
